2023 Theme: Better Transport Better Future 


PTAANZ's inaugural Conference and Gala Dinner in 2022 explored the theme of The Great Recovery. It gave the public transport sector in Australia and New Zealand the opportunity to regroup following the disruption of the Covid-19 pandemic, share lessons learnt and exchange ideas on how to avoid a car-led recovery.

In 2023, as the public transport sector endeavours to get existing and new customers back on our networks, the Better Transport Better Future theme challenges us to realise our full potential to optimise the quality of life for our communities, now and for hundreds of years to come.

This year's Conference will explore industry issues including: 

  • How technology and data can improve public transport customer experience 

  • Making public transport more equitable and closing accessibility gaps 

  • The transport infrastructure legacy of major events 

  • Exploring digitally induced mode shift 

  • Public transport funding models of the future.
