Alok Jain
CEO and Managing Director, Trans-consult

Alok is the CEO and Managing Director of Trans-consult, a management-consulting firm, specializing in advisory services for technology driven public transport operation and management. He has a long portfolio of experience in the transportation sector and is an international expert trainer with International Association of Public Transport (UITP). He is a fellow of Civic Exchange and serves in the Council for Decarbonizing Transport in Asia. He is a Senior Advisor to IoTSG/AllThingsConnected, Singapore. 

He served as Deputy Operations Director of The Kowloon Motor Bus Co. (1933) Ltd. (KMB) between 2013 and 2016, leading the strategy and planning for improving efficiency, instilling process management, restructuring the network and implementation of new technology, which resulted in a HK$1billion turnaround in the profitability. 

Prior to KMB, he was Director of Trans-consult Asia, Hong Kong, and MVA Asia, Hong Kong, and led the design and planning of many large-scale transport infrastructure projects. 

Alok has also worked for MTR Corporation / KCR Corporation, Hong Kong for 12 years. His last position was General Manager-Marketing prior to which he also worked in the areas of railway/metro project planning and management, operations planning, testing and commissioning of new lines, revenue management, financial appraisals, and strategic planning. 

Alok played an active role in a number of other business organizations and worked in many countries in a career spanning over 30 years. With several publications to his credit including contributions to a book on best practices in railways operations and management, he is a regular speaker on multi-modal integration, public transport operations & management, SMART mobility, and clean vehicle technologies.


Darek Koper, Group Manager Metro Services, Auckland Transport, New Zealand

Darek is leading the public transport, on demand and total mobility service delivery and decarbonisation of Auckland’s public transport bus and ferry fleets and infrastructure specifications to improve air quality and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. He has 15 years’ experience in various roles in the transportation industry.

Darek is leading Auckland Transport’s transition to zero emission bus fleet known as Auckland’s Low Emission Bus Roadmap. Auckland’s Low Emission Bus Roadmap was a finalist for the Low Carbon Future Award at the 2021 New Zealand Energy Excellence Awards and the Hydrogen Fuel Cell Bus trial is a finalist for the Low Carbon Future Award at the 2022 New Zealand Energy Excellence Awards.

Darek collaborates with private bus operators to facilitate greater understanding of the benefits of moving to zero emission fleets and plays a key role in the development of supply chain to support the transition from diesel to electric and hydrogen fuel cell buses and ferries, their management, operations and charging infrastructure. He is also chairing the New Zealand Low Emission Bus Working Group tasked with overcoming challenges and removing barriers to earlier adoption of zero emission buses in New Zealand.

Jonathan Anderson, Sustainable Mobility Manager, Keolis Downer

Jonathan is Sustainable Mobility Manager for Keolis Downer in Australasia, responsible for driving the organisation’s push toward zero emissions public transport. Trained as a mechanical engineer, Jonathan spent 9 years with engineering consulting firm Arup working primarily on energy and transport projects. These included hybrid renewable energy systems, battery integration, and the emerging green hydrogen sector. He is currently providing technical and project delivery support for battery electric and hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle deployments across Australia, while also working to create new projects and growing KD’s New Energies and Sustainable Transport (NEST) Centre of Excellence. Jonathan is passionate about the role that the public transport sector can play in reducing carbon emissions using exciting new energy technologies.


Chris Dolman, Business Development Manager - Clean Hydrogen BOC South Pacific, Linde Group

Chris holds degrees in Bachelor Business Administration and Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) from Macquarie University and a Diploma in Marketing from Cambridge Marketing College.

Chris works on Hydrogen Project Development in both Australia with a focus on mobility projects and decarbonising hard to abate sectors while export markets develop. Chris is working closely with a number of international fuel cell truck and bus providers to bring vehicles to Australia with these expected to enter the market in the coming years in hydrogen clusters across the country. Australia is competing against countries with large government subsidies internationally with truck and bus providers key to many Australian projects.

Chris is an active member of the NERA hydrogen clusters including the being a Board member of SAH2, a member of the VH2 Advisory Council as supporting various state based Zero Emission working groups.  Additionally, Chris to bring an extended network to partners as well as BOC colleagues supporting Standards Australia for Hydrogen and the Australian New Zealand Industrial Gas Association which has been working with hydrogen safely and effectively for decades.

Collaboration as well as safety are key components for the hydrogen sector to maximise opportunities both locally and with exports into the future. Project proponents within the hydrogen and renewables sector all bring different skill sets with strong partnerships the key to expediting projects.

The hydrogen economy remains a significant opportunity for Australia while sharing learnings from projects will allow the sector to develop more quickly. Chris has worked to share key learnings to the BOC ARENA funded Bulwer Island project and will continue to share learnings from all projects with the sector to ensure it develops quickly.


Laurane de Gendre, Associate Transport Planner, WSP

Laurane is a Public Transport Planner with a background in Urban Systems Engineering. With 10 years’ experience worldwide, she is passionate about public transports, and demonstrates strong bus planning and operations skills through projects both locally and overseas (Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, France). She is excited to be a part of the Australian transition to Zero-emission transports.  

Laurane is leading WSP’s national Zero-Emission Bus (ZEB) and green fleets capability in Australia. She started her ZEB journey in 2019 and is involved in several Zero-Emission bus transition projects across Australia, building on the wide knowledge and experience of the Global WSP ZEB team.


Gareth Ridge, Country Director - Australia and New Zealand, Zenobē

Gareth leads Zenobe’s business in Australia and New Zealand, building on the growth and success of Zenobe in the UK and Europe.

He is a former Management Consultant and Strategy expert in the energy and water utility sectors​ and has had a focus on grid-edge technologies, both through his consulting engagements and through Zenobe’s work within the transport and energy sectors.

Gareth is excited about making a positive change in the industries we work in and facilitating rapid transformation through the use of proven technology, strong expertise and Zenobe’s access to capital.


Natasha Santha, Partner, L.E.K. Consulting

Natasha regularly advises Governments and industry on the impact of new and emerging transport technologies. Her experience spans all modes , and covers public transport, road, and airports. 

She has also worked extensively across the energy value chain, including renewable technologies and alternative fuels – bringing a deep understanding of the implications of the decarbonisation of the transport fleet.

Natasha has led several high stakes projects in the context of service/technology driven transport disruption and supporting the transition to net zero emissions.


Russ Yell, Regional Director ANZ, Optibus

Russ is a thought leader and influencer at the forefront of global mobility innovation. In his current role he works with transport agencies and transport operators in ANZ to improve mobility outcomes through the Optibus platform and its ever-increasing suite of capabilities.

During his 20 years in the transport and infrastructure industry he's worked across the globe, and has always sought to challenge norms and find opportunities to improve outcomes through process redesign, user-centricity and the adoption of innovative technologies.
